Hole in One Par-Tee

It has already come and gone and I still can not BELIEVE my child is already 1 year old!

Since having Jaxon the concept of time being fleeting is all the more real. I can’t get back any of those sweet, special moments with my tiny little baby.

The exciting part of growing up is celebrating special moments, ESPECIALLY BIRTHDAYS!!

I love birthdays. To be completely honest, I used to (jokingly) day my birthday was my favorite holiday. But I can definitely say now that Jaxon’s birthday is my favorite holiday!

A day solely dedicated to the human being I created! A day to celebrate his life and all the joy he brings to this world.

As a mom, the cool thing about first birthdays is that you really get to pick the theme. I mean he can’t talk yet so he’s definitely not going to be able to complain about it. But by 2 years, I know he will have his own opinions and interests and I will be planning a “Paw Patrol Extravaganza” or something like that.

But this year, this year was MY year.

There are so many cute themes for first birthdays but after I saw “Hole in One” I KNEW that was our theme. His gender reveal was on a golf course so obviously he needed a gold themed first birthday too!

Food is always a HIGE part of any party. Personally, I think the food makes or breaks it so….

Golf themed everything!

  • Golf Cake + Smash Cake
  • Golf Course Sugar Cookies
  • Golf Ball Cupcakes
  • Club Sandwiches
  • Chip Shot & Dip
  • Bucket of Balls– Donut Holes
  • Bunker Balls – Sausage & Cheese
  • Birdie Bites– Chicken Wings
  • The Green– Veggie Tray
  • Putt Putt Pasta Salad
  • Build Your Own Par-fait

And of course, no golf course is complete without a clubhouse!

So for beverages, we had the 19th Hole with lots of beer, waters, and a few signature drinks!

how cute are these custom cups?!

I actually ordered the stickers via Vistaprint and then added them to these cups I found at Party City!

All of the signs I used to decorate were purchased from Etsy and then displayed in plastic frames that I got for just $1 each at Dollar Tree (mom win!).

The guestbook turned out amazing! The package from Etsy included a printout that I mounted to blue cardstock and displayed on a clipboard like a “golf tee time” sheet!

Another easy & budget friend decor that everyone loved was these Titleist Balls I used to decorate! They came in packs of 2 at Dollar Tree (my favorite for “little stuff”) and all it took was printing out the logo, cutting it and then adhering with hot glue! Easy-peasy!

I decided to make my own “smash cake banner” because why spend extra money on something only to cover it in buttercream and throw it away later?

I actually used a necktie purchase at Party City (which is where the crown and bib Aledo came from) as the middle of the banner. It reads “1st birthday boy”. Then I added ribbon from Hobby Lobby that matched the party colors. I found these adorable white poms on wire that looked like little golf balls and really added some texture to it! I was really happy with how it looked even though it fell off the chair half way through haha!

All in all, it was a fabulous birthday!

I am so looking forward to planning so many more over the top parties for my little man.

I how this helps anyone else planning a special golf themed party for their loved one!

Cheers to a special Par-Tee!!
