Surprise! Here is your baby.

It is no secret that Jaxon was not a “planned baby” but few people know the entire story.

I was in my final semester of college at Texas Woman’s University (after a solid 4 years at Ole Miss, HOTTY TODDY). After beginning college as a biology major, changing at the end of my sophomore year to a nursing major, and finally recognizing my true passion and changing again to a nutrition major at the end of my senior year. Preceding that I transfer to TWU to finish up. Anyways, during that semester I began to feel “off”. I was taking a daily contraceptive and all my “monthly stuff” period had been normal, just lighter than usual the past few times.

In early February my “monthly stuff” period only lasted a day which made me so uneasy that I decided to just take a test to give myself peace-of-mind. Well, actually, what I gave myself was more like a two-day panic attack..

The next week I went to the doctor for a sonogram to determine how far along I was. We look in there and HE HAS A FACE. I’m talking a fully (sort of ) formed human was in there looking right back at me. Come to find out, I was actually TWENTY WEEKS PREGNANT.

That’s literally almost unheard of to go that long undetected.

To help you see why I didn’t know, this photo was taken when (which we later realized) I was 16 weeks pregnant.

If you’re shocked, believe me, I was more shocked, and so was my fiancé…

And as I was laying on the doctor’s exam table, starring into the eyes of this little human that I didn’t even know existed, with overwhelming emotion tears were streaming down my own face, the doctor looked at me and said,

“Surprise! Here is your baby.”

And I fell in love.
